A recent subdivision in the south-west of Calgary had a feature storm pond, which was part of a community wetlands effect. However, upon completion, the storm pond drained very rapidly, through the pre-cast joints of the box culvert system. The standard ram-neck was ineffective under the hydrostatic pressure of the full pond.
Mountain Waterproofing was contracted to seal the joints, some of which were quite wide. The resin used was our urethane chemical resin designed to seal these specific joints. As pictured below, the resin quickly cures to create a gasket-like seal in the joint which is 100% impervious to water. The De Neef resin is UL listed for potable water, so there are no environmental concerns.
